PCV Bus Training

PCV Bus Driver Training Liverpool: Whether you want to drive a long-distance coach, a local bus or a minibus, you’ll need to add to the skills you’ve already learned for your car driving licence. You’ll need to learn not only about driving a bigger vehicle but also about looking after your passengers, who are relying on you for a safe and comfortable journey. To operate a bus or coach in the UK, you need a Passenger Carrying Vehicle (PCV) license. The PCV license entitles its holders to drive buses, minibuses and coaches legally, competently and proficiently. Our one-to-one training is learner focused and designed to suit every individual.

To qualify for PCV Bus Training, legally the following conditions must be met:

• A passed medical examination arranged by Abacus
• A full UK car licence, valid before training begins and throughout the course
• A provisional licence to entitle you to start your PCV training
• Your 100 question theory and hazard perception test passed

The PCV licence can range from a 9 seated minibus to a large 120 seater double-decker bus. At Abacus UK Training, we have designed all of our training modules to be interesting, engaging, relevant and fun. We pride ourselves on our very high pass rate and believe that this is due to a combination of the design of our courses and the excellent standard of instructors we use. All of our instructors are approachable and friendly and supportive and will guide you safely through the process. All you need to do is apply and our team will do the rest!

Starting with a medical examination, arranged by us, you will then apply for your provisional licence and your training will be taken from there. Courses are blocked in pairs to provide a 7 hour training session (i.e. Module 1 and Module 2, Module 3 and Module 4, etc.) Each pair of modules are delivered on a fixed date and you will be informed after booking when the next round of courses begins. After passing your Initial Driver CPC, you are required by law to update your qualification by undertaking the Periodic Driver CPC. This course consists of 35 hours of re-training and must be completed within 5 years.  The course can be done in one week, or split into 5 single days – each day being 7 hours long.
